Bill

Hi all

Have recently bought my third X-Type a 55 plate 2.2 D SE. The previous 2 were company cars, an 02 2.0 Litre Petrol followed by an 04 2.0 Litre Diesel. The only critisism I have is that the lighter socket is not live all the time. My daughter bought me a Solar Powered Battery Charger for my birthday. It was attached to me last car, a Mondeo diesel and even after four weeks without being used during the worst of the winter, the car started first time with a fully charged battery. The alarm did not take anything out of the battery. I used to do over 40k miles per year, now being almost retired I'm down to under 6K. Most done in the summer.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for an X-Type? I would like to be able to plumb in a second lighter socket that remains live.

Welcome to the forum Bill,

Seems that you are fond of those Xs!

Take a look in the FAQs in the S section and you will find a link to the wiring diagrams. (X included)

Welcome to the forum Bill, agree with Norri.

You might also want to have a look in our library.

Best of luck.

Bill, welcome aboard, good to have you here.:icon_beerchug:

The X type guys will welcome you warmly I'm sure. Nice choice btw...love the X type myself and the 2.2 is great in terms of both performance and fuel economy.

You might find the off topic good for fun, maybe check out the mug shot thread and add yours?

Some really good guys and great techs, top vendors offering good pricing levels and great service, and more to come....all good

In the meantime I've upgraded you manually to full forum access so you can better view the site:)
