Bye for now from Scotland

The S Type has been sold. We are back with Volvo and our second S80. I is the wife who now drives the car purchases since I became a biker and she wanted another S80. The Jag has hit 10 years old and nearly 100k, so that is when we trade in. The reason for going back to Volvo is down to one thing, front wheel drive. FWD copes better in the winter and my wife prefers under steer to over steer. There are lots of roundabouts where we live and so little skids do happen. She panics if the back of the car goes but is fine if she feels the front slide.

So we have a D5 5 cylinder turbo diesel with very similar performance to the Jag, about 6-7mpg better on the fuel and one group lower so a small saving on road tax.

It is a very anonymous car compared to the Jag. Outside it is metallic dark grey, inside it is very nice with cream leather. There is a lot more space for us and storing things. The equipment is the same as the Jag, plus heated seats which I hate but the wife loves.

Thanks for all the help when things went wrong (which was rare) and especially the Scottish meet and ride out.

I am sure in the future we will get another and be back, regards, Ian aka Delta66. :icon_beerchug:

Ian,

Sorry to hear the S-Type has gone but always good to hear when a long term owner can say it was rare for things to go wrong.

No need to become a stranger on the forum just because you no longer have a Jaguar.

Keep safe on your bike.

Graham

Hope to see you back soon Ian,

Have fun on the bike, I was just looking at pics from a friend who had a trip up the West coast across the top and back down to Fife.

Hi Ian, thanks for the update.
You seems to have been here forever, part of the woodwork and will be missed.

Things change and time moves on so appreciate the car change, hope it all works out for you my friend.
Always welcome here, Jag owner or not, so feel free to drop by from time to time

Best
Jim
