First timer - 2006 XKR Convertible (X100)
Hi all,
From the day the XK8 was introduced, I have considered it one of the best looking cars ever. A classic design, that hasn't dated one bit.
A few months ago I started getting the itch pretty bad. I had to have one.
Found a low miles 2006 XKR Convertible in pretty good shape. Was able to secure it before it even was listed for sale. I couldn't be happier and have a constant smile on my face driving it.
Haven't tried to drive it with wife and son (6'1'' fourteen year old that is still growing like a weed). Don't think I will.
I'm in central NJ (originally from the Netherlands) and our summers offer plenty of opportunity to drive with the top down.
Love all the information I find on the board and hope to be able to contribute here and there. I'll post some pictures in the "Wow us with your XK8/R photos" thread.
Best, Hein

Welcome to the forum Hein,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

Hello, Hein,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
I rather like that model too. In fact, I've about decided that's my Next Jaguar.
You're right about the best driving is when you're alone in the car, Any car. Even one passenger compromises performance to a certain extent; acceleration, braking, handling, no matter what!
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
