Default Is it a good deal? XJR

Hi guys I'm glad to be here. I found a 99XJR 132k miles. He was asking 2900 I got him to 2500 and don't think he will do anymore. I checked the main things like rod valve noise. Oil neglect leaks. Smoke. Trans. All are fine. Good body/paint. Good interior. Clean title. South car. What's wrong is as I read famous abs light traction control light. Braking from 50 there's a vibration and pulls to the left maybe that's causing the lights?. The back of the driver seat does not go up and down motor maybe?. Driver window won't work maybe switch?. Oh and will hood cat fit? Jaguar Hood Emblem Badge Leaping Cat Logo at Spring Fits 2000 09 x s XS XJ XJS | eBay thanks guys I dreamed about owning a R for so long

Welcome to the forum marauder,

Follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region section by following this link Lower Atlantic - NC SC FL GA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Check the compression and the secondary timing chain tensioners. If they are plastic, they will need to be retrofitted with metal ones. Cost is about $300 for DIY and closer to a $1000 to have a professional Jaguar shop to do it. The compression tests on Nikasil motors are very important as Nikasil cracks in the cylinder lining cannot be repaired. Ohterwise, for $2500 I cannot see you getting anything better!

welcome to the forum and the Jag family - you will find plenty of info and support here. I see you are in SC - where at? If you do purchase one and are in the Charleston area - there is a great indie shop specializing in Jag repairs. I use them for parts rather than paying dealership prices, but great to know he is there for repairs if I need help. enjoy

I'm still green myself and have had great support on the DIY front from the folks here. Just depends on the intensity of the project but I'm sure there are a few willing to take you up on the offer. There are a few forum members in Columbia - Rob (alias RRT) is one and he guided me to the local repair shop here. He may be able to point you to an few indie's in the columbia area. Below is the link to that post:
