Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pa. 1986 XJ6 S3
Its great to be here! I recently bought a 1986 XJ6 S3 with 43K miles on it. It sat in a garage for 12 years after it's owner passed away but seems to have weathered the decade of inactivity with relatively few problems.
I'm 52 years old and this is "my" 1st Jag, although my father had a 90 Varden Plas (sp?) for several years. The car is in nice shape but the rear brake calipers are shot...I'm quite surprised how much of a job it is to replace the back calipers and rotors, with the rotors residing next to the rear differential instead of at the wheel!
Other problems include a quirky heater/climate control that likes to blow cold air on occasion during cold weather and a non functioning cruise control. One by one these will be fixed up as the car is just too nice to let it deteriorate.
I appreciate any and all help from the members...please feel free to get hold of me if I can be of help to others!
Jim
