Hello Jaguar Family ....

Good evening Jaguar Family,

Greetings from Eastvale California.

I just picked up my 3rd Jaguar, a 2007 XKR and I have fallen in love all over again. I purchased my first XJ6 back in 1991 and another in 1994. I sold both in the early 2000s but swore I would eventually get myself another one. Well, this Christmas I was looking through Facebook and Offer Up and found a Christmas gift. It is not in perfect condition but it runs well and is pretty very clean.
I have replaced the Catalytic Converters today (one of the reasons I got it so cheap) so now I can pass smog. It's throwing some strange codes on the Xtool so I am looking for a good, reliable and knowledgeable mechanics in my area (besides the Jaguar dealer ). So any recommendations are much appreciated.

Jags Away ....

Craig

Welcome to the Forums.

As this is not the Tech Section, my only suggestion, after too many Jags, is to disconnect the battery, find a shady tree, have a beer or 2.

This will drain the system, and then start again with YOUR driving style and those new cats.

Battery age/integrity has a HUGE input on odd codes.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Craig,

The X150 is VERY sensitive to battery charge and condition, It will throw all kinds of weird codes if the battery is below par. I recommend checking this first, clearing codes and then seeing which (if any) come back.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk-xkr-x150-33/ to the XK/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Hello, Craig,
Congratulations on your Latest Jaguar!
Grant, who responded above, is one of our Gurus, so if he tells you to replace the battery and start over, it could be just that simple to fix your car.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
