Hello from NC

Hello, my name is Guillaume and I just purchased my first Jaguar. It is a 1997 XL6 L, and is looking pretty good. I am now trying to fix all the little problems that came with the car, mostly from a previous owner that must have abused the car a bit and/or didn't know how to fix things properly on it. I have a big job ahead of me, as I need to change the expansion valve and dryer (I couldn't find a post about how to remove the dash - it seems everyone tries to avoid answering that question real hard!). Any help there (especially pictures or videos) would be much appreciated.

I have a new steering wheel coming (with nice wood), new vents for the back of the center console (why can't someone just re-manufacture that little rod that holds all the fins together? Any 3D printers should be able to do that, right?), a new ashtray, and a new piece to hold the radio, clock, etc. with all its tabs. I already have removed the center console and am ready to put all these parts in.

The rearview mirror is about to be shipped for repairs, so is the clock.

Also, the memory goes on/off on its own, which is frustrating because it makes it impossible to diagnose.

I've already rebuilt the master switch, and have ordered door clips (5 were missing in the driver door alone!).

Other than that, I've got 4 new tires on it, changed the oil, and it purrrrrs! Getting about 24 mpg on the highway. 18 in city.

Sun roof will be the next project after I get that AC working.

Cheers
