Hi Folks, looking forward to reading through some interesting posts. Owned several Jaguars in the past including 3.8 Mk2's and the original "S Types". Just recently bought a 95,000 mile 99 XJR8, 2 previous owners and a dealer stamped service book. I have to say I'm mightily impressed with the performance.

The O/S rear silencer snapped off after the first 200 miles but on inspection it looks like the original part as it has Jaguar and the date of manufacture Sept 99. Anyway I managed to weld in a section of pipe until I decide what to replace them with. I've heard someone is making a rear section without the silencer in it which lets you hear the V8 under acceleration but maintains a quiet cruising speed :D Now done around 300 miles at an average 21mpg.
