Hi from Ireland - New Owner of a Daimler Super Eight

Hi guys,

I just bought this 2007 Daimler Super Eight here in Ireland and no doubt I will need some help as my journey begins with this mechanically propelled vehicle
It's a one-owner car, which was bought new in Ireland and has a full Jaguar main dealer service history. It has only done 51,500 miles and is in immaculate condition. It is in Garnet red and is a 4 seater car.

Here is a photo of her;

Thanks for letting me play with fellow 'Big Cat' owners :icon_tinykitball: :D

Hello, Paul,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar! And what a Beauty it is!!
51,000 miles is just now well broken in and loosened up for one of these engines. My advice to you is to take the thing out and DRIVE IT!!

The Worst thing to do for such a car is to let it sit in the garage and Rot!
Because it will while you're not looking.

Someone will be along shortly to direct you to the correct section where you can have all your questions answered/

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums Paul,

Good to have you with us. A Daimler variant is always the best specification and that one looks to be in superb condition. Take care of those Sepang wheels. Very expensive to repair and almost impossible to find a replacement.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/ to the X350 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Thank you ElinorB, that's good advice indeed and advice I intend to take :-)

I look forward to engaging on the forum :icon_biggrin:

Thanks for the welcome Graham!

Thanks also for the info on the wheels. I didn't know what they were called but I know they recently had €1,000 spent on them to get them fully refurbished so I hopefully won't be curbing them anytime soon :icon_eek:

I look forward to exploring the forum and to hooking up with other owners closer to home on the UK/Eire page.

Cheers,

Paul.

Paul,

That's a very good price for refurbishing split rim alloys. I had Sepang wheels on a 2005 XK8.

Thanks Graham,

They look fab on the XK8 … any idea what they’re worth?
I have recently refurbished the wheels on my R33 GTR and as they are BBS LM’s they are also split rims and they cost €850 to refurbish, after a bit of haggling from the €1,000 he asked for!

Paul,

It's worth a drive to Ireland next time I need wheels refurbished! That's a quality job at an excellent price.

As for Sepangs, they are almost unobtainable now. New ones that turn up have usually been forgotten gathering dust in the back of a dealer's parts department. Prices reflect scarcity. Yours should be OK as they've recently been refurbished but if you ever do need parts (trim rings or titanium bolts), S B Wheels in Birmingham are a good specialist.

Graham

Thanks again Graham for that info, hopefully I won't need to contact S B Wheels :icon_biggrin:
