Default I`m a newbie (ish) :)

Hello, all
I`d just like to say good evening to everybody and thanks in advance for all the help I`m (probably) going to need.

Just bought my second Jag - the one I`ve lusted after for years and now finally been able to justify to myself. It`s a '98 XJR8, and despite a whole 12 hours of ownership I`m completely smitten.

Again!

Last Jag was a 1981 Daimler Double 6, which was a wonderful (if temperamental) piece of kit, and it was a long time ago!

Looking forward to being enlightened

Cheers

Steve

Welcome to the forum Steve,

You'll be relieved to know the XJR doesn't drink petrol at quite the same rate as the Daimler Double Six!

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-x308-xj8-xjr-27/ to the X308 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the UK Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/ to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Thanks for the welcome, everybody - I`m immensley relieved to hear that the XJR doesn`t drink fuel like the 66! An average of 11mpg with that, if I remember correctly (I was rather younger with a heavier right foot though. )

Looking forward to being part of a sensible community again.

Steve,

That sounds right. I had a Series I XJ12 in 1978 and it had to go after 6 months of the same figure MPG!
