Jag series3 / 3.4 Litre
Hi everyone I'm new on this and I live in NZ.
I have bought a Jaguar 3 series with a 3.4 liter motor. Twin SU Carbs not injected.
I'm a European Car machanic but mainly work on Audi VW.
I have a Mercedes 1969 280SE which needs a repaint apart from that its mint.
Also, I have I think (correct me if i'm wrong, I often am?) The only Audi 200 Turbo Qauttro Avant in NZ. There are some 100's, also 200 sedans.
Now I've bought the Jag just to give myself more projects? Am I crazy?

I also do country music with and without a band on my first album to be released in NZ.
Anyway can anyone confer; Are the fuel pumps in the tanks on a 3.4 Liter series 3?
My Haynes manual is not very discriptive and does not even show 314 on the wiring diagrams for the fuel relay? situated I think on Bulkhead. There is a Relay with C1/C2/C4/W1/W2 my book shows it should have a C3? The same I suppose? ANyway no fuel to motor, lots of other electrics not available as well. Is this this the "Liven" up relay on the Bulkhead? All Lights work. Just won't start.

Pumps in the tanks on the 3.4 models, yes.
The relay you've mentioned--- C1, C2, etc ---- sounds like the starter relay.
I can't find any wiring info for the 3.4 models, sorry.

Doug is right, as always.
Think of the 3.4 NZ car as a Series 2 carby car. Almost the same.
Wiring etc will be sooooo close it should not cause that much grief, especially with the knowledge of the other "class" stuff you mess with.
Somewhere, HAHAHAHA, in my shed is a 3.4 book. I will find it as soon as I can and repost whatever I think is relevant.
The S2 had an oil switch (worked in reverse) that controlled the "earth" of the fuel pump relay. Sooooo, no oil pressure = NO pumps, but since the carbies were full of fuel, the engine started, and the oil pressure appeared, the relay switched ON, and the pumps whirred, and the whole thing just did what it did, SIMPLE.
Look down near the oil filter housing, and rearward of it, screwed diect into the engine block oil gallery MAY be one or two oil switches. Some engines have the second up almost under the power steer pump mounting bracket, so LOOK AROUND. Now, one of these is the idiot light, the other is the fuel pump relay switch. There will also be a HUGE looking oil switch, usually screwed direct into the oil filter alloy housing topside, that is for the gauge, DO NOT mess with that, it is big $$. Once you find the correct switch, remove the wire, earth it out, try again.
Fun wil be had.

Just like to say Thanks! for all of the comments and what a friendly place to come to, so many of you have good senses of humour. Does that arrive from all of the tedious hours of working on Jaguars, because the wiring is a nightmare.
