Jaguar X Type estate

Hi everone, bought an X Type back in last September been great lovely car to drive had it serviced last Monday in a Renault garage changed oil filters Till today the gearbox warning light came on being an automatic saying gearbox fault, took it back to the garage they say take it to Jaguars it won't change gear anybody got any ideas as I like driving them but haven't got a clue how to fix them.Thanks I await your replies.
