Lifelong dream, hope it holds true
My wife has always wanted a Jag, I said does it matter what type of Jag it is.. her reply was it must have the prancing cat on the hood (bonnet). Many years went by, raising kids, moving many times etc.. Well we finally located ourselves just outside of Pittsburgh, PA, and the kids are gone on their way and we are financially stable.
It finally looked like the right time, but we did not know it.
The day started out with a motorcycle ride to purchase new helmets, and it was a hot day. 92F (33C) So hot that we parked the bike in the garage... now what to do.. hmm. lets go looking for a used Jag. This started out just fine, went to the dealership but nothing available so they sent us to their Mercedes dealership as they had a 2007 S-Type 3.0l. We test drove it and decided this was the one.. but by the time we returned from the test drive, the car was sold. Semi disappointed, we headed to a Jeep dealership to look at a few Wranglers... then I bought one (2012). The wife was not upset, so I assumed I was still in her good book. Later that week our Jeep salesmen called to advise us that he saw an S-Type at another dealership close to his home.
This we went out to look at in this small steel town north of Pittsburgh, the price was 1/3 of the 2007 so we were a little nervous. It is a 2003 S-Type 4.2l with 54K miles. We discovered it had only one owner and all the repair/service receipts came with the car. Clean CarFax included. This turned out to be a quick sale and her dream is in the garage. My task now is to keep up with maintenance and repairs.
I already enjoy reading posts in the forum, as they keep me aware of potential future problems.
Thanks
GEO

Welcome to the forum,
No doubting it was worth the wait!
A one owner with full vehicle history is a rare find. Sounds like you've carefully researched the S-Type on the forum long before closing the deal. Enjoy it.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
