Default Mistakes have been made and now I want to daily a junky 88 xj12

Traded my Passat w8 for this car. Kinda rough but now I need to make it my new daily. It has a load dependent misfire, I've effed up the vacuum line routing on the pass intake, the rear output seals leak, the steering has some play, and I want to daily drive it. Oh and the vacuum pod tore and it's stuck at full retard among numerous non essential problems.

Hi and welcome aboard

You have an XJS, not XJ12. The Xj12 is a 4 door sedan

The XJS is a great car once you're done slogging thru the fix-it lists. Sadly, darn few have been well maintained. Almost every failure point, and the fixes, are well documented.

New vacuum advance units are available for about $80. Also, the centrifugal advance is probably stuck. Easily fixed

Sloppy steering is probably worn out rack bushings

Replace all your under hood fuel hoses

The cooling system on a V12 must be 100%.

See ya in the "XJS" section

Cheers

Well the slop in the steering doesnt feel like a dead rod end because it's about 30° of weird looseness as in it's not full loose it's just an area of low responsiveness. The 4 rubber fuel rail lines are cracked and I'd hate to light my car up so where can I find those?
