My first Jaguar

Hi,

I live in the New Forest in the south of England having retired down here from London in 2011

Recently bought an XK convertible Signature on a 2014 plate to replace a one owner 1975 Triumph Stag that was about as original as you could get for a 49 year old car, that in turn was bought to replace a 1970 Triumph TR6 PI that had a nut and bolt restoration.

As the years advance I decided to go for comfort and power rather than just power, plus i do a lot of travelling in France and Spain and whilst the Triumph's were great fun you do tend to fall out of them after along drive!
The Jag (so far) is everything I want for a weekend/touring car and great fun.

Jim

Welcome to the forums Jim,

Good to have you with us.

Over the years, I've also gone towards increased comfort for travelling in France and Spain. The XK Signature makes a very good long distance, high average speed tourer.

Hello, Jim,
I had a Datsun Roadster for quite a while, only took it on one Very Long trip (Flagstaff AZ to Indio CA, little over 300 miles in a day), and your description of exiting after a long drive is SO spot on, but I never thought to put it in those words!!

Congratulations on your new Jaguar convertible! Still a bit of Roaster feel to that?

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
