The New Guy

Good morning. I'm the new guy and signed up after my girl friend's "Baby Jag" (2004 X Type, 3.0, AWD) has an acceleration problem. Typical P0171 and 174 codes. She loves her car and i have to admit it is fun to drive. I do the maintainence on all our toys and belong to other forums for just that reason. Already like what I see and the info has been great. Look forward to long prosperous relationship.

Scott

Vacuum Leak

Appreciate the welcome Translator and Cadilac. The problem turned out to be a leak in the vacuum braker between the intake manifold and the brake master cyinder. Girlfriend had been complaining about hard braking. Duh, the doctor should listen to the patient. All is well now as she is happy again. Thanks, Scott

Glad to hear it was a simple fix Scott! Welcome, and hope you drop by and learn more about the car...before other inconveniences pop up.

There is much to be said about a happy girlfriend. Hope she stays that way. Since that brake boost check valve went south, probably should check the other two vacuum leaks well documented under the same codes. They are simple cheap fixes as well.
