New to Jaguar

Hello everyone! I just bought my first Jag, a 2003 x-type with 66k. I love the car! I am a master ase tech as well as a master nissan and infiniti tech. Great to see a Jag forum!

Not as new to the forum but still searching for my 97-06 XK8

What a forum first of all. I have a 2005 MINI convertible and the MINI forum isn't quite as extensive as this one. I've been a member of the Jaguar forum since this past Summer as I was looking for answers as I am still searching for my first Jaguar. I do know what I want...a 2000 or better XK8. Found one back in the Summer but after waiting a while and research, realized it wasn't exactly as described. I've found another 2000 XK8 rag top that I've been watching here in Knoxville that seems to pan out so far. It does have Nikasil liners but has 66K on the clock and is in near perfect condition inside (looks like it's never been sat in...no brush up work evidence either). Clean, smoke free, everything works and great driver. I'll update if I decide to purchase. I do know one thing, however. When I do purchase, I appreciate this forum. There are some of y'all that have extensive knowledge on repair and problem issues and have gone all out to supply descriptions and links to just about anything I could think of. Thanks for all that work.

I've been riding Harleys for years now and like wrenching my own stuff. The MINI was eye opening as it was my first "British" car and things are a bit different from across the pond. I know through this site that when the first XK is in my garage, I have a place to come if/when things need repair. Thanks for that. :icon_bike:

Thanks for the support JimC. Ain't the web something? I'm here in Tennessee, you in Glasgow and we have such great, FAST communication with the entire planet. The 2000 XK8 is gone...snatched out of my hands before I grabbed. It wasn't the color (Topaz) I was wanting but was the condition I was looking for. Oh well, my mom told me years ago they are making them everyday so I'll find another one. Talk again soon.
