Default New jaguar after 36 year wait..

Hi all and thank you for the opportunity to join this really informative forum.
Back in 1982 on honeymoon on the Isle of Wight (UK) I came across a beautiful Mk 2 2.4 Salon tasty belonged to an elderly widow and had just been left in her garage.
She agreed to sell it to me if I promised to look after it as it had been her husbands pride and joy.
I had that car for several years until our two daughters arrived and I was forced to sell it.
Then the usual ways of life got in the way, work raising children etc.
Having retired to Southern Spain I had recently the chance to purchase a late 2001 Xkr 4.0 ltr supercharged jaguar coupé. I jumped at this opportunity and she now sits happily on the drive and it's such a pleasure to be driving jaguars again.
The car is not perfect and there are just a couple of small issues to put right but that comes with the territory with these cars.
I have a cruise control issue but will post separately regarding done advice.
Thanks again.

Welcome to the forums Georgexkr,

I turn right onto E15 when I get down to Motril. Must try going left if we're ever allowed back on the roads of Europe!

I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thanks Graham.
I turn onto the E15 before you!
I'm in the Arboleas/Vera area.
Thanks for the heads-up.
Hoping to get some answers here in time... What are you driving?

Depends how much of a hurry I'm in.

The Jaguar tends to attract little notice but the Police and speed cameras love the Bentley.

Welcome back to the Jaguar world I love your car!
looking at your wheels make sure you have the valve stem adaptor.. i found out the hard way that you can't add air to these wheels w/o the special adaptor

Thank you for the tip.
My brother's got one but a convertible and told me about this.
It was one of the first things I checked. In fact there were two in a pouch in the glove box. I also bought a 12v compressor which makes checking and inflating much easier at home rather than annoy people at the petrol station while they wait to use the air line👍🏻
