So I posted a question before I posted here....thought I'd go ahead and introduce myself.

Rookie mechanic. Spent many late nights in my Dad's garage fetching tools and cleaning parts and tools up so I guess I learned enough to work on a car when I have to.

I've had my 2004 Jaguar X-Type 2.5L 5 Speed for about 7 years and I've personally put 110K miles on it so I feel I know it pretty well.

I've never really had an issue with it until recently. My biggest problem has been the lug nuts on the wheels not coming off easily; I hate those chrome shelled lug nuts!

I had to replace the driver's side hub, bearing and control arm, the starter, and the breather hose; that's it.

Anyway here I am and of course I've got a request....:icon_wink:

I was referred by a commenter on this forum to look at the PDF service manual for my car....where is that? Seems a lot of newbies have asked for it but I don't see links?

For having owned a 10 year old car and driving it for the past 7, you haven't had to do much to it at all! How fortunate you have been!

Welcome to the forum jagedjem,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you have found your way to the X-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues - such as the Workshop Manual in PDF. Follow this link to the FAQ's:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...essories-5915/

Scroll down to the end and you'll find the link to the PDF there.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the USA Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link USA Lower Atlantic - NC SC FL GA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
