Hello forum. I was requested to post here first to introduce myself. I'm Bill Robinson from Delaware. 56 years young. ASE certified and own my own construction company as well. Have had many many cars in my life. Was pretty much a chevy guy (and still am in many ways) until I bought a 1990 E30 BMW convertible back in 2003. This car opened my eyes a bit to understand just how well engineered foreign cars are. Through the years have bought and sold many cars. In the past 10 years have had a number of E30s, a E36 M3, a 99 540, 2001 M-coupe and now a 2006 E90. I still have my 2002 Suburban (268,000 miles and still running like a beast), a 2003 express van for work, a 99 Caddy STS with 54000 miles on it and just bought a 2005 Jaguar XTY (as shown on the title. Not used to the Jag model ID's yet so I apologize for not being up to speed but I'll get there! Also apologize in advance for listing so many BMW's if I upset anyone! Looking forward to picking your brains and getting advice and as well helping out other forum members with my experience and knowledge.

Welcome to the forum Bill,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
The description on the title must just be a concatenaton of XTYPE. Does it look like this:
A bigger clue will be if it has an X-Type badge on the luggage compartment lid!
I know you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Mid Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-mid-atlantic-65/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
