New Member AGAIN!!!!!!

Okay guys and girls! (Gotta' be PC!) I haven't been on in a while, but back to give everyone an update if anyone cares. My beautiful '85 XJ6 was stolen, was used in a high speed chase, was wrecked, then it caught on fire and well it was totaled!

I said I wasn't going to own another Jag, but well, I had the bug in short order.

I am now the proud owner of a silver blue '90 XJ6 VDP w/ 138k miles on her.

The old girl sat in the sun unloved and unused for three yrs before I spotted her. I asked the owner how much and surprisingly it wasn't much. ($1500) Put in fresh gas, fuel filter and charged the battery. She fired up and ran with a little coaxing. After a few miles of driving, she settled out and let me stretch her legs. I must say, my '85 was pretty powerful, the '90 is much smoother and linear.

She is not as in good of shape as the '85 was (clearcoat is flaking off and interior is worn a little), but runs a bit stronger and has potential for a real nice open road runner.

She is scheduled for paint next week. It is going to be a two tone paint job with the top a darker blue and the sides the original color.

I was allowed to keep the rims from the '85, but they don't quite flow with the body lines on the '90, so a more sportier set is being sought.

So, I am back with a vengence and will port pics of my "new" Jag in the next few days. I will do some old and new so you can see the progress.

Thanks for all of the great info on this sight. Keep it coming!

Hope you enjoy this later model saloon. The engine is far better from a reliability point of view.

Congratulations. Like a phoenix rising out of the flames. Have fun and avoid the speed traps.
