Welcome to the forums
Congrats on your decision .You can consider of buying late XJ40s like '93 -94 .They're quite reliable .I find X300s the most reliable considering they're mechanically rock solid cars and no nikasil issues most XJ8s between '98-00 and they seem not to develop rust issues as much as XJ40s
I think your choice should be '95-97 X300s

Go with an 04 or laterX type..they have four round headlights and there are every bit as classy...Plenty of them out there too to choose from..Welcome and good luck

Anytime
I think you will get more replies that will shed some lights on your decision as well . The XJR '95-97 comes with the dark wood trim unlike Sovereign ,less chrome, different wheels , firmer suspension .They have different seats too .
Nope, sadly '94 was the last year for XJ40
