Thanks!
Despite the adage of buy the best you can afford, I'm too tight fisted with my money to pay top dollar... So we'll see how that plays out.
I'm looking for something that has hopefully had the airsprings swapped out for conventional springs (I already have a BMW X5 with the usual airspring woes*) and can be happy with something that looks a little lived in, provided there is evidence of some knowledgeable maintenance. I'd rather a car where the previous owner got it regularly mechanically maintained at a suitable Jag Indy but didn't wash it, than one where they got oil changes at Midas but had the wheels refurbished and the stone chips touched up..
Or I might just chicken out of the whole process..
(*in fairness, the replacement airsprings on the BMW were pretty cheap and easy to swap... And the 16 year old compressor is still going strong.. touch wood)
