New member intro- Danny Jaquez
Hi Everyone,
My name is Danny Jaquez from Dallas Texas.
I just joined in may when i bought my 2000 jaguar xj8. It has 89k miles on it. I work on cars for a living, and i was looking for a way to install hids on the jag so i came on here and found a post and was able to accomplish the hid install.
The car also came without a transponder. So i bought a used one online and found the program instructions on here and programmed it into my car. So far this forum has been lots of help. We are enjoying our jag as a family.
I always go to forums to look for answers to problems i have on cars. There's times when u start noticing the same problems on a certain cars and u can find easy, affordable solutions to those problems.
At this time i haven't had any major problems with the jag. The car belonged to my godfather which he is a technician as well and always serviced it himself. It came with new tires, he just did the water pump, sparkplugs, sunroof, fuel pump. I got it with 87k so i'm getting ready to do an oil change on it soon. Brakes were just done as well on the front and the rear still have about 70 percent life.
The only thing that bothers me about the brakes is he installed semi metallic pads so i keep getting brake dust all over my wheels. I've always ran ceramic pads on all my vehicles and it does make a big difference on the brake performance and dust. Other than that glad to be a member of jaguar forums and i look forward to being a part of the community. Thanks!

Danny, thanks for the interesting introduction and welcome.
Many of us have found the expertise in this friendly and helpful forum is invaluable.
As Graham said brake dust seems a standard Jaguar accompaniment.
I reckon the only solution is to have the wheels resprayed in matte brake dust grey!
