Default New Member Introduction

Hi..I finally "bit the bullet" and purchased a 1995 6.0 Liter V12 XJS. Although I had initially been searching for a 1995 4.0 6 cylinder, I came across this V12 with only 2 owners and 44,000 miles.
The car has been garaged in Texas for the past 22 years and driven regularly up until about 3 years ago. VIN production serial number is 196207. Although I understand the initial production number for these 1995 XJ-S 6.0 2+2 Convertible automatics was 194775, I can only assume that my XJ-S was sort of in the middle of the production run. Further, I understand that Jaguar only exported 78 of these LHD cars to the United States in 1995 and only 2 in 1996?
The car is in original "unmolested" condition painted British Racing Green (or the Jaguar equivalent) with a light brown interior and convertible roof.

Welcome to the forums Chris,

Good to have you with us. Lucky to find an XJS that has clearly had care and light but regular use.

I can see you've already found your way to the XJS forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham...thanks for the Signature advice. I followed your instructions and managed to get it all sorted except the pic is upside down?

If you took it on a smartphone, they have an attribute to make it appear in the correct orientation regardless of which way round you hold the phone but many forums (including ours) cannot interpret the attribute so the pic displays upside down.

Either flip it with Windows Paint, Photoshop etc or post it here and I'll rotate it for you.

Thanks Jim....I lived in Melbourne, Sydney and Noosa Heads at various times in my life.
Were many RHD XJ-S machines exported to Australia?

For us "non-techo"types, could you please document exactly how you accomplished this feat!

1. saved your image in post #1 to my PC then opened it in Windows Paint:

2. reset to the maximum pixel size permitted on the forum for SigPics (see box arrowed in red)
3. checked the file size and found it still exceeded the permitted file size (9.8kB)
4. gradually reduced the pixel size to get below this limit.
5. saved the reduced image
