Hi guys, I'm Marc a born & bred Londoner. I've been into Jags since my uncle had a knackered Series 2 XJ6 when I was a little boy. I've had loads of different makes and models over the years, but am stuck with Jags now.

Currently have a '96 XJR, which I just love.

Previous Jags (in order of ownership, latest first!)-

'92 XJ40 4 litre. Bought this one earlier this year and would still have it if I had somewhere to store it after I bought the XJR. Really miss this one.

'97 4 litre Sport. Eventually scrapped, I'n not sure why really.

'93 XJ40 Sovereign. Developed several uncurable ailments all at once. Scrapped.

'95 4 litre XJ6. Was a great car and covered around 40,000 miles until it developed an odd fault whereby it couldn't be switched off with the key, so you had to pull a relay instead. Scrapped.

'92 XJ40 XJ6 3.2. Great car, so smooth and fairly economical by the standards of old Jags! Odd spec too, Sports pack (lowered stiffer suspension, pinstriping and the 16" lattice alloys), but poverty spec interior and no cd changer etc. Sadly written off by a Swedish lorry driver. Still miss this one.

Hello, Marc,
Of all the cars you list, including your current one (nice car, by the way), it seems the ones you loved most were the Xj40s.

All Jag Lovers have their favorites ad I understand it. Mine happens to be the Series 2 Xj6.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks for the welcome guys. There's so much info here, can't believe I didn't join up years ago.

ElinorB - I think I do prefer the XJ40 to the X300 overall. The '40s just feel that grade higher in quality and cabin ambience. Similarly if you go back and compare the XJ40 with the Series 3 that preceded it I guess.
