Hello everybody, my name Randy and I am new to the Jaguar Forum. Last month I purchased a 99 XK8 convertible, with only 82,000 miles. I waited, for a little over 5 years, for the previous owner to sell it to me. Now that I have it, I am one happy camper! The car starts and runs great, beside a little misfire, which I'm hoping that new plugs and wiring will fix that. And I also will change out 02 sensors. But other than that, everything works great on it. It does have 22in aftermarket rims, which I will keep for a little while. With such large wheels, there isn't much room for bumps in the road.

Well, it's nice to be in this forum, knowing that, if I need some advice for the XK8, I have so many people to reach out to.

Default Thanks

Thank you all for such warm welcoming. Being that my XK8 is a 1999, (can't tell by looking at it), I am sure there will be some problems, but it's nice to know that I can reach out to fellow owners!

Check the XK8/XKR FAQ's for the three regular issues with early models:

1. plastic tensioners (failure is an engine killer)
2. cooling system - water pump/sticking thermostat
3. transmission - fluid & filter change (not in service schedule BUT highly recommedned for prolonged life)
