Default New owner 2002 XKR Convertible

Ive owned old Triumphs before, but those were easy to fix as they were so basic.
Now Ive bought a 2002 XKR Convertible, 4.0L Supercharged. Much more complex that an old Triumph, lol.
Im in Edmonton, Canada and although I have to park the car for winter, driving it for only part of the year in summer is still well worth it.
FYI this is the first forum ever that I have joined. Should be a learning experience.

Welcome to the forum,

Good to have you with us.
It's a change from a Trumpet for sure.
You should find your way to the XK8/R section here XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
You'll soon get the hang of the forum stuff.

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome to the forum,

Triumph to XKR - you do like a challenge.

Follow Norri's link to the very active and friendly XK8/XKR section. You'll find plenty of help, advice and information there.

As this is your first forum, a hint on how to edit your Signature may help. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

I miss being able to start the car with a teaspoon.

Enjoy the forum.

FYI... I am trying to put a photo on my signature, but it says it can not be larger than 9.8k. I have tried shrinking a photo down but 32k is the smallest I can make it. Seriously 9.8k is the largest the photo I can attach to my signature????

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hey J. What was the file that failed, and do I need to look into it? (don't like failed downloads.

Thanks,
Richard

Richard,
I went into the downloads for XKR, and it was a DYI for coolant flush. I clicked on it but my computer just kept with the hour glass thing. I left the computer and hoped it just needed some time to download, but it never did. Left it for at least 30 min, so just terminated the download.

Im thinking it was my computer.

Hi Jeff, thanks for the feedback.

I've just checked, the file you are after I think is the DIY Coolant Flush and Fill.

3Mb pdf.

Try this direct link. XK Coolant Flush and Thermostat Replacement. Works for me.

If I picked the wrong file, just sing out.

All the best,
Richard

You can use Picassa Picasa (free) to downsize your photo - open your photo then use the 'File Export to Folder option - you can specify any size. Worked for me.
Picassa is a really good way to organise your photos BTW.

Welcome! Have a great vacation and see you in the XK8/R section when you return, hopefully with stories of how much fun you had with your new car!

Let's see some pics of the trip when you get back.

Enjoy it
