New XJ8 Owner

Hi All,

My Wife has wanted an XJ for a long long time now so I finally relented and bought her this 2001 XJ8 in Mistral Blue with only 48,000 miles on it. It had a few minor issues that I've fixed with the help of eBay and input from this forum (radio antenna, CD changer, inoperative high mount brake light, couple of trim issues). Everything works on the car and I am hoping it stays that way, and I plan on checking the upper TC tensioners soon to see if they are the problematic type or have been upgraded.

We won't be driving her too much, so she will stay a low mileage car for quite a while.

Welcome to the forum badger2196,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

(your linked image isn't opening)

I can see you have already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Central Region forum by following this link USA Central - MT WY CO ND SD NE KS - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Thanks for the additional info Graham, and I have fixed the image link. I see you are from Durham - I have lived in Colorado since 1997, but come from a place by the name of Hunwick which is not far from Durham city (on the way to Bishop Auckland).

Hunwick, I know it well - just north of Toronto (that'll mystify the Canadian members!)

XJ8 looks good. The Mistral Blue is a particularly nice colour.

That's a great color. Your wife has good taste... in cars! I'm sure you're a catch, too. Welcome to the forums.
