Smile Our first Daimler, but not the first British Car

After having owned a Landrover Series III for a couple of years, I restored a Triumph TR6 which we still own and love.

This spring I found the Daimler 250 V8 in Berlin. I always wanted to own a MK II and the Daimler was right for me with it´s V8.

It was in a anice condition, as it was running in Spain for the last 15 years. It was quite a hassle to get it registered in Germany.

Now it has all the tests and is registered as a historic vehicle. After mending some minor things and visiting a small classic car meeting in Apolda, Germany we took part in the classic Hamburg Berlin Rallye in September.

The Daimler proofed to be the perfect saloon to travel this 1000 km distance.

Now I will get the car ready for winter. The cooling system with pump and all of the hoses needs to be replaced.

The Kenlowe fan is on my christmas wish list.

Welcome to the forum cplaar,

The Daimler 250 is a rare car and you were fortunate to find a good example.

Moving and registering vehicles in other EU countries can be very difficult when it should really be very simple.

Looking forward to seeing pics of the 250.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Welcome to this friendly Forum.
I'm sure the Europe section would appreciate a summary of your tussle with bureaucracy to get the car registered.
