Default Proud Owner of 2002 Jaguar X-type

Hi everyone - I just bought a silver 2002 Jaguar X-type. I'm loving it so far and looking on the forums to see how to get the most out of the car and solve a few issues that I'm having (ex. CD player has CD stuck in it!).

Good to be here, the forums are packed with good info from what I can tell.

Welcome Blaydes99,

It's good that you find the forum useful, any idea what CD is stuck in there? with luck it may be Wayne Newton.

Thanks everyone, and thank you Jim for the upgrade.

I've posted this in another thread, but I did fix the CD player. It doesn't actually have a CD stuck in it. I pulled the whole unit out of the dash and opened the CD tray. I saw that some springs had come loose that are connnected to the roller that draws in/ejects CDs. After struggling to reconnect them for an hour (and succeeding), I put everything back together and gave it a try. Everything now works!

Among other issues, I've ordered new IMT o-rings, a breather hose, and will seal up the brake booster sensor with some heat shrink ($65 is too much for this part). I can hear a sucking sound from the IMT seals so I know they are gone, and when the car is cold I get a really bumpy engine and the brakes almost don't work at all. I'm almost glad that I have the pleasure of fixing the issues, as I know am swelled with pride and loving the fact that my X-type will be performing like a champ.
