Would like to remain a member

Hi Guys
I guess I should have introduced myself some time ago. My wife drives a '98 XJR and I have a '02 VDP. I found this forum shortly after we bought the XJR and lurked for a while, then registered a few months ago. I haven't posted much as I'm here to learn. I check in here on a regular basis and have found the info available here on our unique vehicles invaluable. Administration advises that I'm liable to be pruned due to inactivity. I can't be a lot of help on the requests for assistance but I'll try to be more chatty than is my nature as I'd like to be a member.

Good move Bob, never hurts to drop in, compliment someones car, appreciate the technical gurus (i.e. not me) and enjoy the humor often littered in the threads. :)

Never hurts to post up pictures of your car..I even tried documenting short vacations taken with the car (with a ton of pics, videos and such), turns out lots of people like to see things like that. We're all just car lovers here.

Maybe have your wife type up her impressions of the cars...never hurts to get a woman's perspective of the these cars...often, it's amusing. :)

Welcome Bob, good to see that you don't seem to have too many problems.

Thanks for the welcome. You really do have to love these cars to put up with the quirks, don't you? I live in a town where no shop(including a so called import specialist) will work on them. We've required the typical repairs commonly noted on here(water pumps, suspension bushings, shocks ,water pumps) but they are 10 and 12 years old. I found an excellent independent shop about 1 1/2 hours away and make sure both cars are serviced and inspected regularly. When the water pump on the XJR went we had to flatbed it for $300 but it all seems worth it when you get them back and they still drive like new. We're fortunate, I guess ,not to have had any of the frustrating electronic glitches some people report.(keeping fingers crossed).

Hey mach1, why not drop into the relevant sections and post your experiences there?
You may find you have someone in your area that could benefit from your indy contacts!:)
Its also always nice to hear of someone enjoying their ride with few issues:)......Unfortunately the forum is based on problems and people that need help to resolve them and that generally makes up 95% of the chat.

Welcome to the forums :)
Why don't your wife become our member also ? We have very cool female members and I think she would make good friends with our female members too :)
