At $50 that was a deal!!
The other main contender was the Ossa at the time. I used to marshal for a neighbour on trials competitions.

Sun's shining over here and my XTZ750 is currently looking like this!!!!
Mind you, it was looking like a right bag of kack so I thought it was time for a complete cosmetic overhaul.

The two strokes share the barn with these.
Don't you just love it when you have mates with garages full of this stuff.

Funny thing is he is one my high school mates younger brothers, and his favourite bike story to tell is when I was a big grown up 15 y/o I let him ride my GSX750 up and down the road when he was 13.

Progress has not been as good as I would have liked.
Had the forks fully rebuilt by RevsRacing in Halesowen using Wilber progressive race springs and new seals, valves and oil
New gas piggy back shocks 4cm longer than stock for the more streetfightered look.
Lots of work done and still lots of detail to do.
Tank is AOK inside but i did a rust treatment anyway.
Just new everything almost.

I went to a motorcycle track day at our local circuit today, In the rider briefing we were told that racing will cease there next year due to noise complaints. They already banned national and international events a few years ago and re zoned the track as an industrial area with a 95db level. All other race tracks in Australia are zoned as sporting facilities with zero noise restrictions between 7am and 7 pm.
Two local residents are apparently the complainants. The track has been there since 1961, a long time before anyone lived anywhere near it. IF YOU BUY OR BUILD NEAR A RACE TRACK EXPECT SOME NOISE.

They will continue to have track days at the circuit for now, let's see how long that lasts.

If you can learn to race a motorbike at Lakeside, you can compete at any race track in the world.— Mick Doohan, 5 time 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix World Champion.

o1xjr, we've been all through similar with Mallory Park race circuit in Leicestershire up until the circuit was recently bought out by new owners.
Mallory should be a heritage site.

Couldn't agree more as everyone here said, if you don't like noise don't buy a house near a race track.
For the same reasons don't buy a house near Heathrow or a church with bells.
Reasonable v unreasonable.

Can't even run my 99' ZRX there, cut of is 1990. Post Classic Period 6 is 1983-1990, next year we hope they bring in Period 7 which is Pre-Modern (1991-1997)..ZRX will still miss out by two years, but I have this Frankensuki on my radar for that.

The EFE has a robust engine, I still see them raced at Santa Pod.
I wouldn't mind an original EFE in the garage.
The suspension mods on that would improve its lap times on a circuit and with a better choice of tyres on modern rim sizes.

One job on the list for my Kawasaki is to replace the front and rear wheels for ZXR750 rims = much better tyre choice.

I had an EFE new in the 80's, it was an awesome piece of kit in it's day, what really let it down was the 16" front wheel. Wasn't great choice of tyres for them back then. From memory I ran a Michelin M48E as the best choice around at the time.
This one looks like it will make a great track bike.
Pic below of my EFE. (was EFS in NZ, but the same bike.)

If you do get another efe, this guy is worth knowing.
He's called grumpy, I've met him plenty of times.

This deal won me over for a track bike. Added pics as add will be taken down soon. Deal done for under $500. Just got to make room in the garage for three more.

That is the fun part, not knowing what you have until you get it home. Worth a gamble at that price.
The good set of fairings would fetch that at a bike wrecker still being original colour. Will have to wait and see, bought unseen. 5 hour round trip tomorrow.

It is amazing how quickly you can free up space when you need it.

Considering a 4th GPZ600, because I have all the other available dead ones for sale in the state. Can't leave one going begging, it might be the best one out there.
