My dad bought it originally in 1994 brand new. The front bumper and front grill were all painted to match the entire faded paint job. That truck was the greatest looking stock anything from american manufacturers that I had ever seen in my lifetime (non sports car that is.) Unfortunately by the time I got it that thing was totalled.:([X(]

But the pics above show what it looked like while I owned it and it was in as good of shape as I could get it in.

Living here in Texas now I've seen about 5 ford f150 flaresides and about 3 that had the same ground effect kit as my truck. Although mine had a roll pan on the rear instead of an ordinary bumper. Man I miss the truck!:(

BTW man am I glad digital cameras have progressed the way they have! The camera those pics were taken with was a 2.1 megapixel I bought when I worked at Officemax. Man that thing took pics you could print 4x6s with only if the pic was perfect!

I miss the 23 T-bucket that my dad and I built from the ground up (he brought it home in bushel baskets, literally). That was the quickest car that I had ever been in. That 350 small block with a performance cam and Holley tri-power was definitely fun. It was nothing for the car to pick up one of the front tires and carry it. Get on good asphault and you could pick up both front tires. Nothing like looking out the front windshield, seeing the tires off of the ground. OH well, maybe I will pick one up and build another one like it. But, I never did get to drive it. Dad sold it before I turned 16 and could ask.

I miss all my past Cherokees to death but my new BMW makes up for those losses...lol. I LOVED the 91 Cherokee Limited I had which I kept for 2 years and had all offroad beefed up..so many hours and great times into that little tank.. = ( Then again I miss my other 91 Cherokee Laredo...63K miles, immaculate from CA...had it and drove it for less than a month and just sold it about a month or so ago...made a nice profit though..;) AND my 1st car...1985 380SE Benz...204K miles and it started my whole European car crazy thing...dont have ONE pic of it...only the original radio in German and the star emblem that broke off! Nice memorbilia though!!

Aquill, here is a pic I found on the internet of roughly what it looked like. You need to take off the cloth roof and the windshield that my dad had was a 2 piece setup that was a bit shorter than what that window is. But, that is the color. My dad did have a 4" wide silver stripe that ran across the top of the body with a black spider web in it. You also need to pull off the dual carb setup in this pic and replace it with a Holley tri-power setup.

I just really couldn't afford to driver her anymore and I didn't want her to just sit. Had some small debts I wanted to get rid of too. But I pretty much did everything I wanted to w/ that car anyway. Loved it to death. Repainted and restored, won Hottest Mutsu @ HIN:Nightshift in Chicago, and was a featured ride in Japanese Nostalgic Car. The new owner had one of these before, and appreciates its history, so she's in very good hands today!

In a couple years I'll prolly get an older "flatty" Conquest/Starion and go a little more 'mod' on it than I did w/ this one.

Sorry to hear...beauty of a car though! What kind of gas mileage did that thing get? Besides your 05 sport took over! Good trade-off IMO!!!;)

I had the 996 turbo and Cayenne turbo as a combo.... then the xk8 and Cayenne turbo combo...

Sure send them to me...If you lack technical skills you should try this program called picasa. It automatically finds all the pics on your entire computer and you can downsize the pics and upload to picasa web album and it's really easy. If you need any other help let me know!;)

btw you have a photobucket why not use that? All you have to do is upload the pics onto their and than use the insert link key that has the earth and paper clip looking thing and it will put the pic into your post. Like I said though if you need help let me know!

Yoikes! where to start...

2nd car I ever owned my Dad picked up from a guy down on his luck in a bar. '68 Torino GT for $375. Great going straight but didn't corner too well as I remeber as a 17 year old.

A little later and just for fun, I picked up a '67 MG Midget. Probably towed it more often than drove it but it was a lot of summer fun knowing that the top half of your head is exposed to all sorts of flying objects at hi-way speed.

There was a Pinto wagon in there...not cool...unless you were using it for impromtu camping trips but definietly memorable.

Don't laugh but my '78 Chevy Malibu was a hoot. One of the very few factory 350 4-speeds. I remember getting stopped one nite with the question "Do you realize how fast you were going?" and responding "no, not really...it red lines at 160!" Judge didn't think I was funny either.

My last and most favourite just left us last weekend. '84 El Camino with a mid sixties built 327 in it.I've had it for 10 years. Started as a one owner northwest US 6 cylinder car and ended up a one of a kind 327 5th generation Elky that cost a LOT of money over the years. I will still get to see it a bunch as a neighbour bought it with an offer I couldn't refuse.

I guess we couldn't keep them all but wish I knew then what I know now as it would be nice to have some of thenm around. Of course, if we didn't sell 'em, we couldn't get the next one.

Now I'm an old guy (50ish) and have my '02 X-Type 3.0 Sport, auto, mesh grills, clear side markers, R badging including shift kob and Enkie J-10 wheels. Oops! I forgot. Switched out my leaper for a 3.0 Sport bonnett badge. Very sleek, now. Get lots ofcool comments in the summer and a whole lot of AWD envy in the winter. Still thinking an XKR Coupe could be mine someday... But, then I would have the maintainence costs of two non-warranty used Jags and everyone would think I was loaded and want to borrow money!
