A VERY early Vanden Plas LOL

The information on this vehicle is as follows: 1913 Sheffield Simplex Powerhouse Museum Sydney NSW Automobile, Sheffield Simplex, Type 7B, open four seater torpedo touring body and 6 cylinder engine, chassis made by Sheffield Simplex Motor Works Ltd, body made by Van den Plas, England, 1913. I was researching (and it is quite interesting ) the history and origin on the name Vanden Plas. This is courtesy of Wikipedia if anyone cares to read further. |
Very cool, but were you indeed "Laughing Out Loud" when you posted this?
|
Yes I was....
The only other Jag I had was an XJ6 in 1999 (year of purchase...not car) and so the Vanden Plas name meant little to me.
Now that I have one, the history is very fascinating and so YES I was laughing when I found a photo of a 1913 Vanden Plas coach as I had NO clue the name went back that far in automobile history. |
