Cameron gives a great play-by-play here, so I'll just say it's thrilling to watch. Patrick Simon is made of stronger stuff than I am — look at him sawing that wheel back and forth!

Racing something that pricey, and with "vintage" safety gear is pretty bold — these dudes rule.

I've always wondered what kind of qualifications one must have to be allowed to race these classics? Perhaps the vintage safety gear is to remind the drivers to not get too aggressive.

When I used to race in somebody else's car, I always told them two things, 1) I'm going to drive it as if it is my own. 2) If it is returned to you upside down on the trailer, that's how the race ended.

Ha ha ha! I'd bet the helmets and firesuits and stuff are modern, but the cars themselves are still deathtraps in the event of a serious wreck. There's not really too much you can do about that.
