Didn't it come with a non synchro 6 speed? Why wouldn't he want that instead?

Or you take it to Apex and get the sequential shift transaxle stuck in, like their GT3 XK8.

I found this ad on the Dupont site. Your friend will need some serious cash as they are asking $275,000. Not too bad since they were originally going for a cool million or so.

I was guessing that the price tag would be rather extreme, which makes the gearbox conversion a mere afterthought. I think there was one of these advertised a few months ago, it was light blue...might have been ebay, or racecars.com, I don't remember where I saw it. Had like zero miles on it.

Hi Jagtech,

You may have to define what is extreme. For you and I $275K would be extreme in the least. For a guy who has an XJ220, a D-Type and an XKSS in his collection, picking up an XJR15 for $275K would be a bargain. Unfortunately for me the only way I could such a collection would be in 1/43 scale.

I've heard that XJ15s can be pretty tricky to drive due to a wicked tendency to spin. I'd still love to have one, but I know I never will.
