...it would be a D-Type. Obviously, as a mere mortal, I'll never be able to buy an actual example. There's more info on the homepage, but I can watch videos like this all day...

Watching this makes me wonder if anyone on the forum has taken the plunge and gotten one of these cars?

Classic Jaguar Replicas | C Type | D Type | XKSS | CJR | Jag Replicas | XK SS

They aren't cheap, but the cool factor is off the charts!

I certainly wouldn't mind a replica C-Type, D-Type, XKSS, or SS-100 but, if I could afford such a thing, I think my first choice replica would be an XJ13, perhaps with an Aston Martin V-12. As long as I'm dreaming, might as well dream really big!

Good taste! I still can't believe the C-Type replicas come in at such a "reasonable" price. Ha ha.

RCR makes a D-type Replica roller. Starts at $40K and up, you add engine and tranny and driveshaft, door openers etc. They only make the chassis for fit of the Jag 6, nothing else. They are in Detroit.

I'd like an E-Type Lightweight. & as they only made a handful of the originals, & they trade in the millions, if they ever come up for sale. A replica would have to do, if I ever get the $300k together to buy one.

I have an RCR D-Type on order. Anxiously awaiting completion of their work.

Went to Revs Institute in Naples, FL yesterday to study the Briggs Cunnungingham 1955 D they have.

Patience is a virtue I hae been advised! Yeah, Right!

Oh wow... You'll have to post some pics when you take delivery! When is it scheduled to arrive?

HI PapaBear,
I never knew of RCR and it about a 1/2 hour from my house.

Do you have a delivery date? I'm thinking of driving up there to check it out in the near future. I may be able to take picture of your car in progress if its's still there. I could then send them along to you.

Default D Type Replica

RCR has apparently made fewer of these than I originally thought. Teething issues. So very limited progress recently as issues are resolved.

The welding quality on the aluminum (tub) and steel (front and rear subframe) is great. CNC machining they do in-house is beautiful.

"Loosely" assembled roller is overdue. Waiting on a completion projection for the roller.

I'm working on a 4.2 from an '83 XJ6, fitting triple Webers and Tremec T5.
