HRE RS101 Wheels, Overview & Sale (w/bonus)
Hey Guys --
Okay first off, sorry for the shameless plug, but I wanted to give an overview of my HRE wheels on my R, share some pictures and put them out for sale as I will be unfortunately moving on to another car in the near future and returning to stock for my trade.
The wheels: HRE RS101. These are a lightweight forged build to order wheel. I've had HRE's on all my past cars and will continue to purchase their wheels due to their high level of customer service, quality, engineering and manufacturing process. I contacted HRE upon delivery of my F-Type and immediately was in touch regarding the RS101 style wheel as it shared certain characteristics of the OEM Gyrodyne wheels but gave a higher quality appearance with the 3-piece style.
In the end, I was spec'd out a 1/2" wider than OEM wheels with the intent to use OEM P Zeros until worn to be replaced with Michelin PSS. This resulted in a front wheel spec of 20x9.5" ET+42 and a rear spec of 20x11" ET+26. With HRE's RS series, it allows for a more conical profile which you can see in the pictures below. Once I received the wheels, the quality was impeccable. The finish I chose was an outer face of Dark Brushed Clear, an inner barrel of Satan Black and an outer lip of Polished Clear. The dark brushed finish is hand crafted and you can see the strokes of brushed finished applied.
As for performance, weight savings was the key. I believe the weight for the fronts were approximately 20-21 lbs and rears 21-22 lbs respective (more accurate to follow once dismounted). Regardless, compared to the OEM wheels, there was a weight savings that makes the car feel more light off its feet. Additionally, even with the OEM P Zero tires (combined with the H&R springs upgrade), it gave a much more planted feeling where I was able to actually feel the torque vectoring with the brake assistance on inside wheel turn-in.
Overall it is a great setup and for those looking or wanting to learn more about HRE wheels, their engineering and manufacturing process, I highly encourage looking them up on Youtube or contacting them directly. Their vendors can help initialize an order, but HRE wheels has always been welcoming to any inquiries or technical questions.
Now for the shameless plug... As those who know, HRE wheels are not cheap. The extensive engineering and highest level of manufacturing process comes with a cost. Retail on this set of wheels is just under $10k which is very difficult for anyone to swallow. Vendors and retailers should be able to give some discounts, but with my specific set, I'll be looking to offer at a substantial discount.
For sale will be my HRE RS101 wheels as spec'd above, I'll include a Gorilla 20-piece locking lug set, in addition to the H&R Lowering Springs as pictured in my setup. Here's the package deal in summary:
There have been several Bay Area F-Type owners who have been able to see the wheels in the flesh and hopefully can vouch in.
Thanks for allowing me to share!

There is no question in my mind that yours are the best-looking wheels I've seen on any F-Type. They are absolutely perfect for the car. I'm also an HRE fan and have purchased several sets for cars over the years. The quality is unsurpassed, and these being forged put the OEM wheels to shame.
I'm tempted, but at the price, it's overkill for my car.
