****Ford Lightning MAF sensor???****
I was talking to my friend who owns a heavily modded Ford Lightning, and he told me how he saw couple of STRs at the track the other day, and he mentioned how they both had stock Ford Lightning MAF (90mm), he also said how the both were using Handheld Tunners and for what he saw they seem to be Diablo brands handheld tunners, or some other popular brand. The STR owners told him they picked up about 20HP at the wheels!
Thats not bad and I just wanted to share this info with everyone here. I've already gotten me a stock Lightning MAF assembly from my friend, since he went with the 110mm aftermarket one for his truck, and for what I can see it will bolt on our stock sensor.
Definitely this will make our cars run way too lean though. So tuning with this mod is a must. I will make some more phone calls and post my finds.

I still have my stock 90mm MAF from my SVTL. So I'm curious to what you find out. I've got two Diablo Predators, one unlocked. I've got a Sponsorship for dyno tunning on the SVTL so if thier is a way to use the Diablo to tune the S-Type I wanna know! lol I'm sure I can get a GREAT deal from the shop that tunes my SVTL.
Side note, the OEM tunning on the S-Type should be pretty conservative. The 90mm MAF wont make it run "way" too lean, but deff gonna make the ECU work to figure it out if at all I would think. Think about the guys that are putting pullies on the STR's with out a tune. That is scary too me, but a 2lb pulley prob wont peg the MAF, or Lean out. But much more over that and your driving a time bomb.
My SVT L is boosting 18 lbs on a ported MP Blower that out flows the stock "Heat"aton blower.

I talked to one of the Diablo techs yesterday. He said they dont really make something that will work with our cars... His best guess was that these STRs owners probably swap their ECMs out (maybe??) I really dont know if these even possible. Because if then, "yes", it would have been rather easy to do the ECM tweaking, which sounds exicting to me. But I have my doubts on this ECM swap, I really dont think the Ford Cobra ECM can support our CAT susp, or ZF transmission...
Anyways probably they were using something custom made or some other brand. I wish I could've a talk to these STR guys. BTW if the Lightning MAF was to be used we could all go all the way with a 4" intake system, and even take out the OEM Flat pipe that goes to the TB, and change that over to 4" also. All it will take is to make it Flat, and get a silicone 90 degree elbo from 4" to 3.25 (If I remember right?).
I also checked the clearence between the SC and the hood, and all we got to work with is 3" or less. But this is not a problem. Just a matter using something to get the aluminum pipe flat... For now a long piece of wood and a hammer comes to mind...LOL

I will call my contacts at Diablo and get the definative answer if thier HHP works for us,
I looked into several and the main problem is the proc codes and getting the strategy tables read.
If those 2 guys managed to get a diablo working why arent they on the forums. I have lots of questions to pick thier brains about.

No one makes a hand held tuner for the str. There is a good chance they were trying to use a piggy back like an AFC or similar and most likely the power gains were realized on the good old butt dyno. Not many people actually spend the money and time to see if the changes they make are for the better or worse Trying to change the maf values wont work for a variety of reasons and if you can not also change the 02 feedback your losing power and at some point you will find the good old limp mode while the ecu works to correct itself.
