2000 S-Type wont start - flooded perhaps?
My 2000 S-type wont start. It cranks but doesnt fire. I think it is
flooded. Does anyone know what the procedure is to start a flooded S-type? THanks. This happened a year ago but unfortunately I didnt write down the sequence of how to fix this. Background: It was starting fine ... I moved it out of the garage and moved it back in. Tried to start it next morning but wouldnt. Battery is 2 years old, fully charged. Any help is appreciated. flooded v8?! that never happens! lol
here is what you do. put your foot completely to the floor on the gas and then try to start the engine while holding down the gas. when it starts to try to fire the slowly release your foot and try to get the engine to catch. you might have to do this a few times but it usually works! worse case, you have to remove the plugs and reprime the cylinders with fresh motor oil. no big deal! |
