2003 Jaguar S Type R Tie Rod Change
I recently undertook a new project on my 03 STR. I changed both inner and outer along with the boots. The boots I purchased were Lemförder(Jaguar OEM producer). I decided to take a mild risk and purchase Moog tie rod ends for a Lincoln LS. They were cheaper than Jag parts and have grease zerks in them. I am happy to report that EV454 is a direct fit for both left and right inners and ES800414 ES800415 are almost direct fit. The only modification I had to make was too the hub mounting stud. The Moog outer studs are a little longer than the stock Jag parts and will not clear the Brembo caliper mounts. I shortened them and cut wrench flats into them and I now how greasable outer tie rod ends.

New update: I just did a second 03' STR using the exact same method. Moog Lincoln LS parts. When putting it together, I noticed a difference. The conical spacer part on the outer rod end that contacts the steering knuckle is slightly different. The LS has a higher angle than the STR. Simple fix; I just swaped the conical spacer and all is well.

Sorry, no photos from my procedure. I was trying to set a personal record (2 hours start to finish).
The red box outlines the "conical spacer", which has a different angle between the LS and S Type. The yellow box outlines the section that needs cut-down for clearance (at least on the STR it does). I then ground flats for an 8 mm wrench into newly shortened threaded stud.
Special side note: while grinding and cutting on the stud; I used a bucket of water to cool it off repeatedly so that I didnt overheat anything such as the rubber boot.
