2005 jaguar s type speakers
So i’m new to the forum with posting- but have used the jaguar forums consistently ever since i purchased my jaguar. I bought a jaguar 2006 s type R supercharged for dirt cheap because it was an impound vehicle. i currently have an 05 s type. There are a lot of salvageable parts in the R though and one of those was the speakers. Same wiring- same placement all of it- but for some reason no sound is coming from the R’s speakers in my s type- just curious what would cause this?
i recently bought a 06 jag s type R supercharged because it was a parts car and i can swap a good amount of them to my 05. i replaced my 05 jag s type’s speakers with the R’s speakers because they sound better. They have the same set up, same everything almost, but yet no sound will come out of the speaker? There’s a wire that hooks into the R’s speakers that the s types speakers didn’t call for, i have the option to use the same wire- it was just taped off because it wasn’t being used before. what can i do to fix? pls help
I've merged your two threads about speakers. Please keep all questions on the same topic in a single thread.
I suggest comparing the electrical schematics would be a good starting point to determine the differences between the 2006 and 2005 audio installations.

The speakers for the premium sound use different plugs and wires in the doors to the standard speakers.
The standard sound speakers are UK Ford Mondeo speakers with one element powered via two wires from the head unit.
The premium sound 'Alpine' speakers have two elements and are powered via three wires from the amp in the boot/trunk.
All cars have both sets of wires and plugs in the doors.
Obviously the premium sound speakers will not work in a car without the amp in the boot/trunk.
To use the 'Alpine' premium sound speakers you will need to fit the amp in the boot/trunk into the d2b fibre network, fit the sub-base speakers in the rear parcel shelf and fit all four Alpine door speakers.
If your car is made from January 2004 and is an 05 model year car with a touch screen it will automaticly change to Premium mode.
Pre-05 model year cars can be changed using the hiden menu.
However, if your car has no touch screen you will need to use the jaguar SDD software to re-program the head unit to work with the amp.
