hi. i was told that the pads and rotors for these cars are rediculously overpriced, but then i made some calls to online brake shops who had the full set of front pads for only about 140 bucks. that was far less than what i was told. how much have you guys paid for a full set of front pads and how much for a set of front rotors? thanks.

 

$60 for front pads, Wagner ThermoQuiet (semi-metallic)
$110 for rear pads, EBC redstuff (ceramic)

I would've put EBC on the front, but I needed pads that day. I can't remember how much I paid for the rear rotors but the front were $440 a set. Price is from the Jag dealership. I think the rear set was about half that price. I called brakeperformance.com and a plain set for the front was about the same as from Jaguar.

Guess I should also note I have the Brembo brakes.

I think you are talking about the rotors specifically. Rotors can be had for 140....your right.......... but not for an STR.

You might want to look at the size difference.

 

Actually i got a complete set of pads and rotors for like $189 shipped for my R, great quality stuff too. Call Andy at brakeperformance.com, very professional and verifies VIN numbers to make sure they send out the right stuff the first time.

The parts were half the price of what my dealer quoted me just for the parts.

 

you guys all have 03 cars right? i thought the pads and rotors are different for the 07? the 2007 has different front brake calipers than the 05 and below right? do they have different rotors too? i actually found oe replacement front rotors for 250 online.

 

I have the correct brake pads and rotors in stock for your car. You are correct that jaguar changed all of the S-type brake systems after 2006
