Any differences between 4.2 Sport Vs STR steering knuckle?

Hello Everyone:
I am in the process of attempting a front brake conversion on my S type, 2003 4.2 Sport package. I have purchased the STR brembo 4 piston calipers for a very good price from a fellow forum member. Bigger wheels (19") and front rotors (365mm?) are also in the plans. My question is: Is there a difference between the 2003 steering knuckles on a sport suspension package and an STR. In other words, is anyone aware of a potential problem when mounting the brembo calipers. I took a trip to a local dealer yesterday, they were not too eager to provide information. The only comment they made was that the STR's steering knuckle has a different part number. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks Ive included pictures: C2C25789, currently on my vehicle: Attachment 169293 C2C21658, from STR, per dealer info: Attachment 169294 |
I'm pretty sure they are not interchangable. When my car was wrecked, they got the base model one first and it wouldn't work. So, $750 later, they got me an str one.

Maybe someone can offer hope lol. I purchased the calipers without thinking about this, very stupid I know. The thing is that the steering knuckles on my s type are no more than 3 months old. So if they do not fit, I will have some very nice calipers with nothing to put them on. i dont want to buy two more steering knuckles. That would be an additional $400.00 |
