Hey daboss085, Its tough finding a local shop thats experiences with Jaguars. Ive had good customer service and excellent work done at "Gables Cats" in Coral gables (only did minor adjustments to car nothing major though). Cheaper than the dealer like Warren Henry Jaguar. Hope it helps

I've used Jag Repairs in Pompano Beach. Replaced fuel pumps for me and I was happy with service and price. I've had friends who used them have complained about how long it takes to get their car back. I think a lot of that is how well you relate and communicate. Mitch is an ex jag dealer mechanic and seems very knowledgeable. I do most if my repairs myself so to trust a mechanic is rare for me.

A friend has given me a strong recommendation for Jaguar Doctor, 1724 Costa del Sol, Boca Raton, FL 33432. 561-362-7464. I do most of my own work, so haven't used them yet, but plan to if I have work that is over my head.

thanks for the inquiries guys, gables is a bit too far. For jag repairs I know Mitch very well, but he is a bit expensive and he does take a while to work on your car. He hates s-types I know that for sure. And for jag doctor I know Terry very well he is hard to make a appt for because he is always so busy, but was thinking of going there if I could not find anyone else. Only thing is that jag doctor in boca told me that he has never really done any rear suspension work on s-types before which is really strange!

And Bald Eagle just wanted to ask you you say you do your own work, do you do suspension work? and where are you located?

There is a shop in Hallandale that I take my car to. The mechanic there (I am told...) worked for Warren Henry for a while. From my experience, he is fair priced.

Tel-Aviv Texaco
126 N Federal Hwy
Hallandale Beach, FL 33009
(954) 457-7268

Ask for Ron.

Whenever I have a problem, I always search up what the cause is on this forum first before going to any mechanic, so I never really had a chance for Ron to diagnose anything for that reason. So cannot vouch on that.

But I can vouch that he is fair priced, professional, does his work on time, and takes good care of your car while in his possession. Every time you get some work done with him, he makes sure to give your car a wash before he lets you go.

In response to daboss085's question: I am in Boca Raton but probably would not do suspension work at this stage. The wife's 04 is still low miles and won't need suspension work for a long time.

Back to daboss085: I am an amateur wrencher and don't work on other people's cars. I have found that suspension work is conceptually simple but physically challenging, especially if you don't have access to a lift. With access to the JTIS, it can be done with a trolley jack and jackstands, but is a PITA. The complicated stuff, like pressing bushings or ball joints in and out, can be done by a local machine shop. I expect that the hardest part of working on our S-types will be finding the correct parts at a reasonable price. You really don't need a Jag specialist if you can locate the parts. Good Luck. Carl
