Bluetooth but nobody can hear me
I have factory fitted Bluetooth in my 2007 S Type that has operated faultlessly with my iPhone until just recently. Now, when I ring out or receive inward calls I can hear them but no one can hear me on any type of phone I pair with the phone system. Possibly a problem with the mike I don’t know. If there is a Mute function in the Bluetooth I can’t find it. I have searched Forum for answer without success. This is driving me nuts. Can anyone help please?

Has there been an iOS update? It's the usual cause.

G'day JagV8. Phone has the latest update so I suppose that would have occurred recently as updates appear regularly. Do you know what the update might be in conflict with and is there a work around or fix?

Ask Apple. There are reports of problems of one kind or another every time they do an update. I'd rather not say how unprofeesional they are, people just get upset, but the evidence is plentiful.

My wife had a similar problem in our 2005 S-Type back in 2009. The cheaply-made microphone had failed. A new one solved the issue. Fortunately the car was in the final month of its factory warranty so the fix was covered....

Problem solved (for now?) but was this a case of BAD APPLE?
I have taken lots of advice from all and tried all the suggestions from credible websites. My Jaguar Dealer says they have had many complaints about Apple phones not working with Bluetooth in current models and other brand dealers report the same problem. iOS9 seems to be a current problem. The dealer spent 2 hrs on the car checking codes, wiring, connections, speaker, phones etc. etc.and found nothing wrong with the Bluetooth set up in my car. My phone is iPhone 4, and we also tried an iPhone 5s Noxia and Samsung Galaxy-Y. I was referred to another credible website today and tried their several suggestions and one worked! Its simple, go into Bluetooth on your phone and click "My Devices". If your car and phone have found each other your car will be shown, click on your car then click "Forget this device", then, toggle the Bluetooth OFF and ON again, and then PAIR the phone according to the car Bluetooth/Phone instructions. This solved my problem. Very happy now. Will probably pass on any future Apple upgrades for a while. Apple have a new product coming out soon called "CAR PLAY", an in-car device I think which will play with all their devices. Could this be the reason they are not proactive in solving these apparently widespread Bluetooth problems. |
Sadly there are others with Apple-caused problems in other forums all over the net...
Well done finding something that worked for you. |
