Are the S-Type supports an exclusive size? I am finding them at the local parts houses to be $110.00 each.

As already said, plus, take one into the general parts guys, and ask for "2 of these please", and leave Jaguar out of the conversation. All teh manufacturers have a size chart in the rear of the catalogues, just getting someone active enough to look beyond the listings will mostly yield results.

I use Honda Accord tailgate struts on the Xj-S bonnets (hoods). About 1" longer, so more room under the thing, and they hold it up sweet. There is ALWAYS an alternative, just think outside the box a little, and generally your wallet will be less empty.
