Default change flip key head blade

I know this must've been covered somewhere. But, I can't seem to find it. I have a used remote key fob (switchblade type) for my Jaguar S-Type. The key head is cut. I can find new uncut blades on ebay, however, they don't have the Jaguar emblem on the flip key button. Is it possible to replace the cut key blade on my remote fob head with the new uncut blade ? Has anyone ever tried this ?

Thanks

Yes you can. There is a small pin in the hinge section of the key, drive this out and the blade just pulls clear.

The transponder is in the plastic part, so if you do this you won't need programming.

Why do you want to open it?

I'd expect it would snap apart, however it may breaK apart!

I thought that if I could open it, I could more easily change the blade. I have a bent one and got a new one cut.

You just need to knock out the pin as shown in the picture, rotate the blade until the pin is accessible and it knocks out quite easily.
