Cruise Control Not working Overspeed Warning

Cruise Control Not working Overspeed Warning
I recently had a new PCM fitted and since then when I try to use cruise control I get a warning saying I am overspeeding and that limiter is not available.
It was a friend who installed it and he has never seen it before and does not know what do do, but I am now stuck with it.
My S-type does not have a switch for Speed control, so I can't just switch it off.
I have tried the usual fixes of kicking it down a gear etc, but no joy.
I have tried to find a fix to change it on the SDD software but nothing.
Ii am stumped. Anyone have any knowledgeable advice on how to get back to having cruise control please?
Thanks.
Mark

I have now reinstated the old PCM as the issue was a double MAF failuyre and not the PCM. The Speed limiter Over Limit issue is still the same, so I can't see how it is Vin specific as the SDD software used to change it reads the Vin and uses that.
Thanks.

I may be wrong, but it is vin specific in relation to the other modules especially the trans control module....i am correct that your overspeed is actual vehicle speed and not rpm...i wish i could point you to the tsb i am referring to....hopefully one of the members will remember what i am referring to and chime in
